"Mrs. Phyllis Conaway, has been instrumental in my growing up. I first met her when visiting The Lighthouse Foursquare Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, My wife and her family attended this church, and immediately Mrs. Conaway made her warm presence known.

Mrs. Conaway inspired me to be the best version of myself no matter what. I also learned from her to say what you mean and mean what you say. Mamasan, as defined, is a woman of authority. Her direct candor had to be appreciated and respected, and you would respect her leadership. No matter who you were, she would give the nurturing and inspiration that a young person would need while trying to find their path in life. I will always be grateful for the qualities she imparted to me in a grandmotherly way as a young man trying to find his path.
